Our mission is to use connected vehicle (C-V2X) technology to better the society we live in. Transportation affects every aspect of our lives, from our morning commute to rushing to the hospital.
Collaboration is one of our greatest tools for improving our transportation technology, but real-world spaces for collaboration between different sections of the transportation industry have been lacking in the past. That’s why we made the iATL: a working laboratory where automakers, manufacturers, and transportation professionals can work together to develop and test the latest C-V2X applications, signals, and roadside equipment under real road conditions.
Located in Alpharetta, GA – a booming suburb of Atlanta, the Silicon Valley of the South – the iATL is an engineering technical facility.
We focus on testing the performance of connected vehicle applications within three kinds of connection:
The approximately 4,400 square-foot facility houses dozens of types of electronic devices that can control traffic signals, school zone safety beacons, electronic crosswalks, and more. Automakers developing interactive safety apps test their apps’ interactions with these devices, while cellular network operators have the opportunity to test C-V2X communications, including the 5G network.
